I want to thank Dawn and Val for giving us an amazing year at “FreeStyle”.
Sarah had been at the same studio for five years, when I felt it was time to move elsewhere.
I am so glad we chose “FreeStyle”.
Sarah was nervous at first, but it did not take long for us to realize that we’d made the right decision.
Dawn and Val are both fabulous!
Sarah has become a more technical, knowledgeable, passionate dancer with Dawn as her teacher. And Val, as studio manager, is always so friendly and willing to answer any questions.
Thank you for welcoming us into your dance family and we look forward to continuing this dance adventure at “FreeStyle”.
Dear Dawn,
I noticed how much time you put in at the studio working with the girls. And especially how you are always there for them at competitions. I see how much time and sacrifice you give, even more so now that you are filling in the gap for Bernadette.
I wanted you to know that your hard work, time and dedication to FreeStyle and to my daughter does not go unnoticed. I appreciate you and thank you so much.

To FreeStyle Dance,
I would just like to say thank you for what you are doing with our children, This is my first year doing the competition mom thing… so you can imagine some of the surprises I have encountered.
First I would like to say thank you for keeping in mind that you are training up our children and also our future youth & adults. Secondly, thank you for keeping the costumes, dance moves and music appropriate, classy and fun. Our girls can go away feeling beautiful and confident about the entire dance opportunity.
I also want to share something that stood out to me. The world can be a dark and difficult place and at times teachers and dancers reflect that in the music and the dance. Our girls stood out as happy, well-rounded girls that choose dance as a positive life-giving outlet in spite of what things go on at home or at school.
So thank you for being positive, life giving and honoring to good morals as you teach our children!
Blessings,
Rosie Funk
Dear Dawn and Val,
I am writing to thank both of you for a great year this year and to congratulate you as well for your successes and those of your students.
As you know, this is Meaghan’s first year at FreeStyle Dance. She has very much enjoyed being a part of the Junior Company classes and has really grown over this past year. She has worked very hard towards her goals and I have seen much growth in her abilities in dance. I have also seen her grow in character, inner strength and self-confidence and want to thank you for supporting her in reaching her goals.
I appreciate how you have shared your gifts and talents of teaching and how you hire dance instructors that are also qualified and willing to share their gifts with her and the other students. I appreciate how you push the students to do their best using tough love when you need to and caring and loving support when you need to. Meaghan shares with me the good days and the bad days and I am impressed with what I hear. You have systems in place that motivate the students to do their best, while teaching them self-discipline, respect and taking responsibility for themselves and their belongings. I believe these are qualities they will carry with them throughout their lives.
I have never heard of the students treating each other poorly or being competitive with a mean spirit, even while they are up against each other sometimes at competition. I have witnessed many times the supportive care and team spirit between the girls both at the studio and out at different competitions. In fact, I am very impressed with how many of the girls have become friends with Meaghan and have supported her both emotionally and practically in such a short time. I believe this must come from the character you wish to portray to your students.
I attended the matinee portion of the Diva Show and enjoyed it so much I stayed to watch the evening show. I was amazed at the number of students and the number of routines and I could only imagine what kind of work and dedication it must take to put all that together in such a short time. As well, it is obvious that you take care to ensure that music choices and costume choices are not just age appropriate but generally appropriate as well. I think the Diva show is an event that prepares the dancers for competition and gives the parents and extended families an opportunity to enjoy all that is being learned at your studio.
I also appreciate the professionalism I see at your studio from the front-end personnel, Val and Annie, to all the dance teachers.
Val, I have really appreciated how you have put up with me and my millions of questions during my learning curve of being a new parent at the studio. You are friendly and caring and I appreciate that you take the time to ask how I am or address my concerns even when I can tell you are crazy busy – keeping a smile on, when possibly, you really don’t feel like it.
While there is always room for improvement in any business, I appreciate as well that you have taken the time to find out what the parents want, asking for feedback with your recent questionnaire. While it is unlikely that you will be able to please everyone, all of the time – it seems that you seek to do your best.
All in all, our family has been extremely happy with the transition of moving Meaghan to your studio, so much in fact that Emma has decided that she would also like to attend FreeStyle Dance and she can’t wait until the summer classes.
We are excited to finish out this year and look forward to another great dance season! Keep up the great work!
I pray that coming year will be filled with many blessings for you, your studio and your families!
